Our Safety Commitment
For over 20 years, The Waterfront Pool and Leisure Centre has been providing safe and hygienic swimming pool, gym and leisure centre facilities for our community. We are a Gold Award standard White Flag holder.
The Health and Safety of our Team and our customers is our priority and we have implemented strict safety protocols, procedures and guidelines to support efforts to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
Our entire Centre has been deep cleaned during our closure period. We have had an independent detailed Risk and Safety assessment completed, and we are following our updated health and safety guidelines. We will clean and sanitize regularly throughout the day, every day. This will take time, in between booked sessions. This is for everyone’s benefit and we hope you will bear with us during these times.
To facilitate social distancing, we have distance signage throughout the Centre. We will limit the number of people checking in and using the changing rooms. We have moved some gym equipment and taken some gym equipment out of service.
We have removed hair dryers and limited showers which are for rinsing before and after pool only. Full shower facilities are not available. Please do not use deodorants or sprays in our facilities.
We have separate entry and exit doors and sanitizers available at entry and exit. We have placed protective screens at the Reception desk where all Centre users should check-in.
To facilitate social distancing and number limitations, use of the facilities is strictly by pre-booking only. This can be done by contacting the Centre on 0539234443. Booking can be facilitated up to one week in advance and up to two sessions can be booked each time.
When booking the Swimming Pool, you will need to confirm the numbers attending and the changing rooms required (Ladies/Gents), as spaces are limited. When the maximum number of session bookings is reached, we cannot accommodate any additional numbers.Please see Pool and Gym Booking and pricing in the menu bar.
Our sessions are limited to 45 minutes pool time, plus 15 mins changing time. All pool users must exit the Centre at the end of one hour, to facilitate cleaning and sanitising of the facilities before the next pre-booked session starts. This is essential to comply with Covid-19 Safety guidelines, and we ask that you adhere to our Safety protocols at all times.
Gym users, we ask that you do not use the changing rooms and arrive Gym ready and leave directly afterwards.
We will be asking Health screening questions at booking stage, and you will be required to complete the health questionnaire when you check-in. (Sample below which can be printed in advance of visit). Please do not visit the Centre if you are unwell.
Contact Tracing: We will retain your confirmed check in details, your name and contact number, until 30 days after your visit to the Centre, to facilitate Contact Tracing requirements.
Fitness classes, spinning, swim lessons will not be available in Phase 1 of re-opening. Updates will be provided when Government guidelines allow for increased capacity while still protecting the safety of all.
Our Swimming Pool and Gym will be open during our scheduled opening hours, subject strictly to pre-booking requirements. Our Sauna and Steam room will remain closed. Spectators are not allowed. Parents must accompany children in the pool area.Some foods and drinks will remain available for purchase. Hot drinks and shakes will not be available. Our guest seating area will remain closed.
Leisure Pass 1-12 month holders: Membership term has been frozen for the 5 months of closure. Holders can a) continue to freeze membership until 30th September 2020* (*subject to change) and avail of our facilities in the meantime on a pay as you go basis, or b) restart their remaining term with reduced capacity and services. Direct Debit payment services will resume from September 2020. Please contact the Centre to discuss your preferred options. Pre-booking is essential for all Centre users.
